Talenel'Elin, Stonesinew, Herald of the Almighty ^[1] (known to his fellow Heralds as Taln and called Talenelat in modern Alethkar), is one of the Heralds of the Almighty.

4500 years ago he was abandoned in Damnation ^[2] (or wherever Heralds go in between Desolations) to suffer alone by the other Heralds after they decided to separate and forsake their oaths. At the end of The Way of Kings, he is seen returning to Kholinar, worn and slightly delusional, warning them the desolation had arrived. ^[1], he then collapses.

It is unclear whether or not he is dead, his sword doesn't vanish which makes some think he is dead, however there is evidence that the Honorblades behave differently in this respect than regular Shardblades. Interestingly, he has dark brown eyes, which is likely to cause him some issues given the Vorin views on eye colour. Several of the chapter [epigraphs] appear to be attributable to him.
