  • For the top nav and buttons, etc, I think this color would do: #35586C. It's a nice, stormy blue to kinda match with the logo.

    • Looks little too dark? So far I kept the current color, because it seems like a nice transition between the darker top/logo with much lighter color you can see on this walls. But I'll play with it, see if it grows on me. If you have some kind of css extension you can copy paste this for a quick preview across all pages:

      .WikiHeader .navbackground, .WikiHeader > nav li.marked {
          background-color: #35586C;
      }

    • Don't worry about it, I won't strung you up for the Stormfather to judge ;) Anyway, Lately I have been helping with some content articles, while trying to find the time to go over the popular articles linked in the universe tabs. Other than that your wall should have a nice overview of what we have been upto..

  • Hi Mbg2. I approved your request, and I'm here to help. I must say, the wiki's background image and main page both look very good, so kudos to you guys for that.

    The wiki does need a logo, so I just made this. If you want me to change anything about it, let me know.

    WikiLogo

    As for other advice or tips, I noticed that there is some recent forum activity, so I wanted to mention a new feature on Wikia - the forum activity module. I just got done helping The Aether Wiki, where you can see the module at the bottom of the right column on the main page. This module, which is displayed by simply entering <wikiaforum />, requires that the wiki is using the new version of forums. You can enable the new forums at Special:WikiFeatures (first item under the Labs section).

    Of course, if you want to keep using the old forums, that's fine. I just wanted to bring that to your attention.

    If you have anything else you want me to help with, let me know.

    • Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant. I thought that by "Discussions module" you meant the article comments feature, which appears at the bottom of the article. (See this page for an example.) The "Discussions about ____" section automatically appears when the new Forums feature is enabled.

      So yeah, if that section bothers you that much, just disable the Forums.

    • we already have navboxes and infoboxes, plus recent activity/photos, read more section and now this.. its just seems as information overload.(especially on short entries)

      I'd be ok with it, if it wasn't that intrusive i.e. remove the whole section, moving the "start a discussion" button to the "read more" section below it - The "minimalistic" style.

      But as it is, I'll have to turn it off and undo some of the changes I made. What can I say, we all learn from mistakes ;)

  • Hi. The only issue I see is the main page protection, which should be lowered to only block new and unregistered edits. For the rest the wiki looks ok.

    In terms of the stubs, you have less than 90 "stub-length" pages, so the content is really ok. The issue with the "stub template" is that it is frequently a bit of a big "failure" box for the reader, and basically says "this page wasn't worth you visiting". However, the customized phrasing you use actually works for me, and I would overlook it. That said, if you don't want the spotlight for a few months I strongly recommend you go through the marked articles and add some information/unmark them if you could; it will make a much better viewing experience for new readers.

  • Copying what I said in my summary, I think the very first navbox should go on every page on the wiki (minus real word articles), like how The Coppermind does it. Also, a second navbox can be added depending on the topic of the page (like on Fauna of Roshar, we would add the World of Roshar navbox as well.)

    • We already have Wikia navigation on top, which suppose to provide links to the most important pages. The bottom navigation will be something similar as well as help people explore additional content, its function will become more distinct and vital the further we go down the road in the series.

      As it is, its very much work in progress (the categories thingy need to be ironed out first), but you are spot on how it suppose to work, only in a more "Streamlined" way(in a good sense ;) )

      EDIT: On second thought, soon I'll start dropping a content bare bones version of it on the book pages, to fine tune the template itself.

  • Hey! I'm currently working on the user infobox, and I was wondering if you could take a look at the test in my sandbox. Some stuff not working is:

    • The hair color
    • The other wikis
    • The caption
