Listener Rhythms are those underlying percussions or melodies with which the Listeners speak and connect with one another. These Rhythms are constants and exist independent of their usage. For example, they can be used to measure time.

Rhythms represent specific states of mind, or the feelings of the individual expressing through each of them. The Listeners attune to Rhythms that correspond with their moods but they can attune to other Rhythms that better express their messages.

Unless one concentrated on attuning a certain Rhythm, one's body would naturally choose the one that fit one's mood. Therefore, it was always a conscious decision to listen to a Rhythm that did not match how one felt.[1]

Dullform and Slaveform don't use Rhythms.

The Rhythm for the Listener Song of Listing is not one of the emotive Rhythms; the Parshendi have certain Rhythms for those chants.[2]
